The Power of Faith

I believe in faith and I also believe that without it, you would be lost in life.
See faith is the one thing that makes you feel certain when you are not sure about something. It also gives you confidence and instills certainty in your heart and soul all throughout your life. I believe in faith because of personal experiences, how I was raised, and most importantly, my religion.
All throughout my life I had had faith and trust that my life would always go my way and be simple. Up until my freshman year in high school, things took a sudden turn. I guess it was safe to say I had just a little too much faith, however I had to learn that the hard way. My grades were sinking and for the first time in my life I felt unsure and hesitant. It was not until my parents told me to be strong and confident that I got back to believing in myself. After weeks of effort, studying, and hard work I finally got the results I so desperately desired. And all because I trusted myself and had faith.
The most important and significant reason I have faith is through my religion. As a Muslim, it is required to have trust and a strong belief to succeed in life. The most important of traits that surround our religion besides kindness and love, is trust. There is no other way of having love and success without the trust of others. As Muslims we are taught that this world is a test and we must pass with sincerity and faith. It is said that the most difficult times are what count. An example of that would be if you were having a horrible day but still managed to keep a smile on your face, that is being faithful.
Besides my religion and personal experiences, I was raised and taught to have faith. With that being said it is safe to say that even without my religion, I would still have the basic concept of faith in my heart. My parents taught me, along respect and kindness, to have trust in yourself that you would succeed in life. Faith is what shaped me as a person today and I am proud to say that without faith I would not be the person I am today.
In conclusion, faith and my religion are what I believe. I came to believe in this be personal experiences, my religion, and how I was raised. I believe faith isn’t something that roams freely, but rather it is something confined deep within your soul. Faith is about taking a risk when you’re unsure about something. Martin Luther once stated, “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase”.
